Actor and director Daniel Fanego has died at the age of 69, as confirmed this Thursday by the Argentine Actors Association (AAA). “It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our member and former union leader, actor and director Daniel Fanego. With extensive experience in theater, television and cinema, he was one of the most appreciated and awarded actors of his generation. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, accompanying them in this difficult time,” the AAA published on its social networks.
Likewise, he indicated that “the farewell” to Fanego will take place “this Friday, September 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Parliament of Buenos Aires.”
Although the reason for his death has not been revealed, it was known that Fanego had been suffering from health problems that had been plaguing him for some time.
Although he studied law, in the mid-70s he decided to devote himself entirely to the theater, until he made his debut in the play “The Anatomy Lesson” in 1977. From there, he built a career that gave him prestige and fame, especially for his participation in several films and television programs.
In cinema, he has made a name for himself in various films such as Betibu; The Angel; Moon of Avellaneda; From the Abyss The World Against Me; The Loves of Laurita; We All Have a Plan And The Creole Faust, among others.
Likewise, on television, his face became known thanks to his interventions in The Marginal; The Kingdom; The Chosen One; Murderous Women; I Will Resist; El Rafa; The Males; Guilty; Mrs. Ordoñez, The Bronze Garden And Romeo and Juliet.
He was also one of the founders of the “Teatroxlaidentidad” and in 2005 received the Podesta Award for Honorable Career, awarded by the union and the Senate of the Nation.
Furthermore, Fanego was a director of the AAA since between 1988 and 1990 he held the position of secretary of international relations of the union under the presidencies of Duilio Marzio and Juan Carlos Dual.
