The bill on the creation of special ruble accounts for foreign agents to transfer income from their intellectual activities and brands was unanimously approved by the State Duma in the first reading. As stated by the speaker of the lower house of parliament, Viacheslav Volodin, the State Duma hopes to consider it in the second and third reading before the end of the year.
“The measures taken are aimed at stopping the enrichment of traitors in our country at the expense of its citizens.” — he wrote on his Telegram channel, recalling that the authors of the bill were 429 deputies.
Volodin noted that the amount of one-time payments to foreign agents, according to experts, can reach tens of millions of rubles.
“The funds will be deposited in a special account in rubles, the opening of which will be mandatory for the foreign agent or for those who transfer fees to him. It will be possible to use them only after the cancellation of the status of a foreign agent. In addition, funds can be credited to the budget by judicial decision.” – he pointed out.
To date, 493 people have been recognized as foreign agents.
According to the parliamentarian, among them are those who left Russia and continue to enrich themselves at the expense of their citizens, often without hiding their hostile attitude towards Russia and their participation in the financing of the bloody kyiv regime.
“After the approval of the law, the funds accumulated in said special accounts will not be used against our country,” – added the chairman of the State Duma.
He recalled that a legislative prohibition had previously been introduced for Russian businessmen and companies to advertise the resources of foreign agents. As a result, according to experts, in the first half of this year the income of the ten largest foreign agent bloggers decreased by 75%.
