Belarusian security forces are carrying out a series of exercises on the eve of the start of the election campaign in the republic to ensure the safety of citizens. This was reported by the Ministry of the Interior of the republic.
It is reported that on November 20, the next stage of the command post exercises of the Ministry of the Interior was held in the country. This time a new scenario of “a possible complication of the operational situation during the election campaign” was being developed.
“Scenarios of complications of the operational situation during the electoral campaign were developed. In particular, blocking the road, group violations of public order, detention of participants in unauthorized events, as well as criminals who have seized emergency vehicles… Special emphasis is placed on the theoretical and practical aspects of ensuring “protecting public order in emergency situations, increasing the level of preparedness of employees and interaction between representatives of different services and units in special conditions.” – reported the department.
Police demonstrated their skills in dispersing unauthorized demonstrations, including using water cannons, armored vehicles and vans with a barrier system. At the same time, the police monitored the situation and the development of events during the riots using a drone.
Let us remember that the next presidential elections in Belarus will take place on January 26, 2025. In this regard, the republican authorities are carrying out intensive preparations. Previously, security forces demonstrated how they would protect polling stations in the upcoming elections: they practiced methods of responding to various violations of the law, from taking hostages and storming polling stations to attacks on members of electoral commissions.
