The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has published official information on military operations in the Kursk region.
On Friday, September 20, the Defense Department Press Service published a special military report on this topic.
Units of the Northern Group of Forces reportedly continued offensive operations, during which they defeated formations of the 22nd, 41st, and 115th mechanized brigades, 17th tank, 82nd air assault, and 1st National Guard brigades, as well as the 112th and 129th territorial defense brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The fighting took place in the areas of the settlements Lyubimovka, Darino, Zeleny Shlyakh, Nikolaevo-Daryino, Tolsty Lug, Malaya Loknya and Plekhovo.
In addition, over the past 24 hours, units of the group thwarted enemy counterattack attempts in the direction of the settlements of Kremyanoye, Lyubimovka and Malaya Loknya.
It is also reported that our troops, with the support of military aviation and artillery fire, repelled four attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break through the border of the Russian Federation in the direction of the settlements of Novy Put and Medvezhye.
“Air strikes, artillery fire and troop actions destroyed concentrations of manpower and equipment of the 21st, 22nd, 41st and 115th mechanized brigades, the 17th tank brigade, the 80th and 95th air assault brigades, the 36th Marine Brigade and the 1st National Guard Brigade, as well as the 103rd and 129th Territorial Defense Brigades in the areas of Bogdanovka, Guevo, Daryino, Zeleny Shlyakh, Kremyanoye, Kubatkin, Kruglenkoye, Kurilovka, Lyubimovka, Mikhailovka, Malaya Loknya, Mirny, Cretaceous, New Road, Novaya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Obukhovka, Plekhovo, Tolsty Lug, Cherkasy Porechnoye and Cherkasy Konopelka.” – the report says.
It is also noted that operational-tactical aviation and missile forces attacked concentration areas in the Sumy region and reserves of the 21st, 22nd, 41st, 115th, 82nd and 92nd mechanized air assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 1st Guards brigade of the National Army, as well as the 103rd and 106th territorial defense brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The targets of the attacks were the areas of the settlements of Basovka, Belovody, Glukhov, Zhuravka, Kondratovka, Kazachye, Katerynovka, Mogritsa, Obody, Pavlovka, Peremoga, Rechki, Rudnevo, Sumy, Shalygino, Khoten and Yastrebinoe.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this sector of the front during the day amounted to more than 370 servicemen and 18 armoured vehicles, including two tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles and 12 armoured combat vehicles, as well as six artillery pieces, one mortar, one electronic warfare station and one mine-clearing engineering vehicle, and seven cars. One pontoon crossing was destroyed.
In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost more than 15,300 servicemen, 124 tanks, 56 infantry fighting vehicles, 93 armored personnel carriers, 780 armored combat vehicles, 471 vehicles, 115 artillery pieces and 28 multiple launch rocket systems, including seven HIMARS and six US-made MLRS, 8 launchers for anti-aircraft missile systems, four transport-loading vehicles, 29 electronic warfare stations, 7 counter-battery radars, two air defense radars, 15 units of engineering equipment, of which 9 engineering clearance vehicles and one UR-77 mine-clearing installation.
The Defense Ministry concluded that the operation to destroy units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues.
