The two Spaniards arrested in Latvia for attempting to carry out an attack in Lithuaniareportedly hired by Russian intelligence services. To whom, after the fact, They tried to deceive them by sending them fake images about the fire they had to cause in a company that has Ukrainian customers. This entire operation would follow a larger plan, that of destabilizing the countries that Russia describes as enemies.
According to the Lithuanian Prosecutor’s Office, both flew from Spain to Riga (Latvia) in September. From there they would have traveled 100 kilometers by car, and loaded with explosives, until reaching Siauliai, a town in northern Lithuania, where the objective was located: a factory that installs mobile radio and television equipment. They then returned to Riga, where they were arrested and extradited.
The Minister of the Interior of Lithuania, Laurynas Kasčiūnas, assured that to clarify all the details “We have to go back to their networks to find out how they did it and who is behind it”.
