Assassinated Hezbollah Commander Ibrahim Aqil Wanted in Deaths of Hundreds of Marines

The security service even offered seven million dollars for providing information on the fate of Ibrahim Aqil, the senior Hezbollah commander killed by Israel during its bombings in southern Beirut. He was an old acquaintance of the United States since, on October 23, 1983, he was one of the leaders of the 241 marines killed in Lebanese capital.

The Americans also accused him of leading the kidnapping of Americans and Germans in Beirut. Over the years, he has been part of the Islamic Jihad CouncilHezbollah’s main terrorist cell. And he was close to Hasan Nasrallah, the leader of the Shiite group, and was considered a senior commander in the organization.

Israel confirmed that it had taken its own life. Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari: “The eliminated senior commanders have been directing attacks against Israeli citizens since October 8. They planned to do moreAlong with Ibrahim Aqil, a dozen senior Hezbollah officials died, who were part of the so-called “Galilee Conquest Plan,” an alleged operation through which they intended to invade Israel.
