A resolution titled “COP29 Peacebuilding Efforts and the COP Ceasefire Initiative” was introduced in the Scottish Parliament.
Oku.Az reports that the resolution published on the parliament’s official website emphasizes that COP29 is an important event for peace, international cooperation and friendship in the world, including between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The document outlines how climate action at COP29 can act as a bridge between nations for peace and cooperation.
The document also expresses support for the “COP ceasefire” initiative, which calls on all parties involved in ongoing conflicts around the world to cease hostilities.
COP29 is said to be a turning point for international climate negotiations, and all parties involved in the event are called to cooperate to address the climate crisis in a meaningful way.
It should be noted that 25 parliamentarians from five political parties (Labour, Conservatives, Greens, Liberal Democrats and the Scottish National Party) supported this resolution.
