Cosmonauts set a new record – Oxu.az

Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko (TASS special correspondent) and Nikolai Chub have broken the record for the longest stay on the International Space Station (ISS) during one expedition.

Oku.Az TASS reported on this.

In 2022-2023, the achievement of their colleagues Dmitry Petel, Sergei Prokopyev and NASA astronaut Frank Rubio, who spent 370 days, 21 hours, 22 minutes and 16 seconds on the ISS, was surpassed by Kononenko and Chub at 17:06:51 Baku time.

Kononenko and Chub arrived at the ISS in September 2023. They are scheduled to return to Earth on Monday, September 23. The expedition is expected to last 374 days.

Only cosmonauts Valery Polyakov and Sergey Avdeyev, who flew aboard the Mir orbital station, spent more time in orbit than Kononenko and Chuba within the same expedition. Thus, Polyakov was in orbit for 437 days in 1994-1995, and Avdeyev was in orbit for 379 days in 1998-1999.
