The Castellón City Council has prepared a special traffic and mobility device for the occasion of Méléndi concertwhich will be held this Saturday, September 21 at the Site des Foires et Marchés (Refeyme).

The First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Infrastructure, Sergio Toledo, participated; the Councilor for Security, Antonio Ortolá; as well as the Councilor for Mobility, Cristian Ramírez; the Councilor for Festivals, Noelia Selma; the Chief Commissioner, Francisco Javier Catalán, and the Mayor Manuel Rodríguez.

Ortolá also indicated that “a coordination unit will also be installed in the premises of the Refeymewhich will include representatives from local police, firefighters, health personnel and private event security as well as state security forces and bodies.

Special bus lines

From the Mobility area, Cristián Ramírez highlighted as the main novelty of this concert the implementation of the 2 special and completely free bus lines. “This is a pioneering measure that will allow many people to get to Refeyme. “These will be circular lines, starting from Teodoro Izquierdo Square (Castalia district) and Músico Pascual Asencio Street (Pavelló Ciutat de Castelló),” he stressed.

Regarding the timetables, the mayor indicated that “the service of the two lines, which will each have three vehicles, will start running from 7:00 p.m. until after the end of the concert, around 1:00 a.m.,” that is, early in the morning.

So there will be 3 buses for each line, with an approximate frequency of 15 minutes and with a total of 58 stops spread throughout the city. The Infrastructure Department has also been asked to strengthen the TRAM lines, both in terms of the number of vehicles and their timetables.

Where to park Melendi Castellón concert

The mobility advisor also mentioned the parking areas set up for this concert. The mayor also said that “as far as parking areas are concerned, the old area will be allowed Monday Marketwith 550 places available.”

In addition, according to Ramirez, “it has been agreed with the Carrefour hypermarket that the parking lot of this shopping center will remain open exceptionally on Saturday night, which will allow many people who come to leave their cars in this parking lot, which “has a capacity of 1,000 spaces.

“An exclusive parking lot will also be set up for vehicles of people with reduced mobility, guaranteeing accessibility for all those attending the concert,” announced the mayor.

The mobility advisor recommended, in any case, “the use of public transport, as the first and most comfortable option, in addition to being free, to get to Refeyme.”

Festivals Councillor Noelia Selma was keen to emphasise “the importance of a concert that is expected to bring together more than 15,000 people at Refeyme, a historical quote which will allow us to have an artist of international stature like Melendi.”

“After a long period, Castellón is once again organising large concerts, regaining its importance and becoming the stage for shows that are putting Castellón back on the map for high-level artist tours,” said the councillor.

Regarding the services that will be available to the participants of the concert, the councilor responsible for the Infrastructure sector, Sergio Toledo, stressed that “this event will have the installation of 72 portable toilets“, 9 mushroom-type bathrooms and 14 adapted bathrooms, to meet the needs of an event of these characteristics.”
