The exchange of information between Belarus and Russia within the framework of mutual recognition will begin in December this year. This was stated today, October 30, by the head of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, Alexei Begun.
According to him, the competent authorities on both sides are taking technical measures to create a data bank.
“There is a corresponding instruction from the government that information exchange between the Russian Federation and Belarus should be operational on December 6 of this year.” – said.
In addition, Begun said that today most illegal immigrants come to the republic with visas from the CIS countries. At the same time, he stressed that due to the migration crisis, Belarus’s policy in this area has seriously tightened and illegal immigrants do not enter the territory of the republic directly with Belarusian visas.
“We note that we are working with Russian colleagues on this issue, that the majority of illegal immigrants arrive on the territory of Belarus with visas from countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States,” – said the runner.
According to him, these could be visas issued by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and “they are quite long chains.” A representative of the Ministry of the Interior explained that if a migrant is involved in such chains, this indicates the high organization of illegal migration and the cost of this process.
“Without transfers and accomplices who work both in the same line as in the European Union, (migrants – EADaily“) will not be able to let you undertake such a dangerous journey,” – said.
The broker also said that European law enforcement officers this year detained 15 Syrians who were involved in organizing illegal migration. Forged documents used by illegal immigrants heading to Belarus were also confiscated.
Recall that the Agreement between the governments of Belarus and Russia on mutual recognition of visas and other issues related to the entry of foreign citizens and stateless persons into the territory of the states parties to the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State was signed on 19 June 2020. It was later ratified by the parties, and in September 2024 it was reported that the concerned services and departments of the two countries were working on its standards.
