Azerbaijan’s men’s and women’s national teams will hold their next match today at the 45th World Chess Olympiad in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Oku.Az reports that the men’s team will face Cuba in round X.
The team is currently ranked 21st with 12 points. India maintains the leading position with 17 points. With 15 points, the United States and Uzbekistan share second and third place respectively.
Previously, the team defeated Montenegro (3-1), Jordan (3.5-0.5), Finland (3.5-0.5), Moldova (3-1), Kazakhstan (3-1), India (1-3), lost to Lithuania (1.5:2.5) and drew with Italy (2:2) and Greece (2:2).
The women’s team will sort out relations with Mongolia in the 10th round. Currently, the team is in 12th place with 13 points. Kazakhstan is the leader with 16 points. India has 15 points and China has 14 points.
The team defeated Slovenia (3-1), Nicaragua (4-0), Australia (3-1), Vietnam (2.5-1.5), Switzerland (4-0) and tied with Argentina, Ukraine and Italy 2-2. :2 and lost to Kazakhstan 1:3.
