Data from the credit history bureau Scoring Bureau, to which TASS refers in its publication, indicate that the “credit consciousness” of Russian citizens has fallen to a minimum level in 2020. Thus, the credit consciousness index of borrowers at the end of the third quarter of 2024 immediately decreased to 1.51 points.
This value became the minimum of the last four years, when the indicator fell to 1.35 points. We are talking about an index to assess the quality of the loan portfolio separately for banks and microfinance organizations.
office manager Oleg Lagutkin He also explained that the index is calculated based on the dynamics of critical overdue debt during the last 90 days and taking into account the probability that the existing overdue debt will move to the so-called “heavy” category.
“We are currently seeing a constant increase in the number of contracts with overdue debts, which is considered a notable decrease in the index. As a rule, periods of decline in the indicator are a response to any external challenge, and upon exiting the zone of financial turbulence, the index begins to grow rapidly.” – stated the expert.
