A renewed design comes to the graphic advertising of the cults of the brotherhood of the Saved. Coinciding with the upcoming events in honor of Saint Mary of Bitterness The brotherhood commissioned a cult border from the carpeño artist Jesús Zurita.
The author explains that the “eclectic style” reigns on the border because it combines elements of different timesWhat he sought was to allude to the rich history of the city of Cordoba, inhabited by diverse cultures that have left their mark over the centuries.
THE Roman echoes They can be seen in the tondo that frames the image of the titles and in the garlands, while the ornaments evoke the Andalusian atauriques and the columns, with “anticlassical proportions, recall medieval and romantic architecture.”
The two drawings, that of the Saved and that of Bitterness
On both sides are represented two symbolic figures: The one on the left, who personifies the kingdom of Cordoba, carries a shield with the arms of the city and the banner of Fernando III.
And the one on the right symbolizes the triumph of faith over sin, with an image that also has a martial appearance that defeats a dragon.
Jesús Zurita drew it on an old paper with graphite and enamels in oil, and used a typography that was harmonious with the rest of the set.
The Triduum in honor of the Virgin of Bitterness will begin in the parish of the Trinitarios on Thursday, September 26, and the kissing of hands will take place on Sunday, September 29, all day, without interruption. Already in October, on Saturday, September 5, the evening rosary is planned in the streets of the parish.
