— Stanislav Alekseevich, IOC director Thomas Bach is retiring next year and the names of seven candidates for such an important post have already been announced. Which one is the most preferable for us?

“The most important thing in this situation is that there will be a change of leadership in the IOC, for which we are preparing with all responsibility. I think it is not so important who holds the presidency. The main thing is that the International Olympic Committee and the Russian Olympic Committee have the opportunity to start everything from scratch.

It should be understood here that the IOC is not always a completely independent organisation from, say, geopolitical factors. And we hope that the new leaders will be able to overcome the constant pressure.

— How do you rate the performance of our Paralympic athletes at the Paris Games?

“They are simply heroes who have overcome the circumstances of life and deserve the utmost respect.” The boys are true patriots and devotees.
