The Minister of Digital Transition and Civil Service, Óscar López, avoided confirming this Saturday the meeting held in Switzerland between the PSOE and Junts and said that it would be the Socialist Party “the one who confirms or not the appointments which occur (with Junts) and report on them.”
Lopez attended the opening gala of the San Sebastian Film Festival last night and this morning visited an Acelera Pyme office in the capital of San Sebastian, where he reviewed the political news in statements to journalists.
Asked about the trip of a PSOE delegation to Switzerland to meet with the leaders of the Junts and try to reestablish their relations, the minister avoided confirming its celebration and avoided talking about its content, arguing that It is up to the party to do so.
As stated, the PSOE has always confirmed and “explained with transparency and normality” the meetings it has had, so it will be the party “that confirms or not the meetings that take place and reports on them.” He added that this is the difference with the PP, which met with Junts during “the failed investiture of Núñez Feijóo” and “we never knew what they were talking about.”
Regarding the situation of relations with Junts, which this week led to a parliamentary defeat by voting with the PP and Vox against a proposal to regulate seasonal rentals, the minister said that the government of Pedro Sánchez “has proven to be the the only one capable of managing political plurality of the country and the territorial diversity that Spain has.”
He recalled that during the previous legislature it was said that The government would “last two weeks” and yet the legislature completed and approved three budgets and 200 laws.
