RESPONSE to accusations by artists from the Ministry of Culture

For several days now, various artists have been making accusations against the Ministry of Culture, and they see certain people within the institution as the reason for not being invited to important events.

Qafqazinfo reports that one of the main accusations made in social media posts is that the singers were invited to the events mentioned in exchange for a bribe. According to the accusation, the head of the ministry’s sector for organizing important state events, Manzar Nuraliyeva, is trying to invite artists to foreign trips and state events.

The poet Vugar Ahmed, his daughter, the singer Almakhanim Ahmadova, the kamancha Shahriyar Musayev and the singer Parviz Gasimov are among those who voiced these accusations. The other day, the singer Nura Suri also supported them.

So, according to what the singer posted on her social media account, everyone is actually complaining about this issue:

“However, they are afraid to make a statement to society. Why should artists be afraid of someone and pay bribes? Besides these, there are countless people who pay bribes to participate in state events. Why are they afraid to voice their grievance? ?!”

We sent a request to the Ministry of Culture on the matter. In response to our request, the ministry said that the above-mentioned allegations are not true:

“We inform you that the organization of such events is prepared on the basis of a special program. The organization of artistic programs for state events by the Ministry of Culture is carried out collegially with the participation of relevant experts. The repertoire for concerts during state events is approved with special care, as well as the selection of participating artists, as a result of the sensitive approach with which this issue is addressed at exhibitions, concerts and performances presented in our country. We note once again that there can be no illegal interference in this process.”
