The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Elena Manzano, reported this Thursday, November 21, to the Extremadura Assembly to report on the data of the collection Extremadura.
In her speech, the Minister of Finance and Public Administration defended that the change in tax policy “has been a priority” for the regional government “and has produced the best results.”
“It was urgent to change it, we, the Extremadurians, lived in a real tax hell which was stifling taxpayers, causing inequalities with other territories and slowing down our economic growth,” he explained.
On the other hand, he added, with the measures of the autonomous government, Extremadura has become the region which has reduced taxes the most surpassing eight Autonomous Communities in the classification of tax competitiveness “and obtaining a greater collection”.
“There are therefore fewer burdens on families and businesses and more resources in the Treasury of all Extremadurans,” he assured.
In this sense, Manzano recalled that Extremadura paid taxes at the highest rates with the lowest incomes, and in addition “no information was provided to the taxpayer”, and now, “for the first time, press conferences were organized at the beginning and end of the election campaign personal income tax to inform, call on taxpayers to apply autonomous deductions and then value them in the face of inaction, to work”.
Thus, the advisor recalled that with the new personal income tax rate adapted to the economic capacity of taxpayers 42 million euros were returned to the residents of Extremadurathere were almost 35,000 new tax filers and that, with the new rental housing deduction, which increased from 5 to 30 percent, 2,940 taxpayers benefited with an impact of more than 2.2 million euros in returning 758 euros per taxpayer.
“By returning money to taxpayers, families, self-employed people and professionals, they know how much we have lost,” he said, “we have collected more: 45.7 million euros“, he stressed.
He also detailed data provided by the National Tax Administration Agency, comparing the years 2023 and 2024, which show that in corporate tax, net income increases by 22.7 percent, while the state average is 15 percent, and that VAT increases. by 1.5 percent, that in the foreign circulation tax the increase is 21.7 percent while it decreases by 4.3 percent percent of the state as a whole.
Likewise, there was a rcollection of an additional 9 million euros for tax on real estate transfers and documented legal acts493,932 euros more in registration tax and 2,163,019 euros more in taxes and public prices.
“More tax justice, less tax pressure and more collection. Our tax policy works, our work gives results, it reaches the families of Extremadura,” he said.
