The Milan prosecutor’s office announced the start of criminal proceedings against two people accused of alleged espionage for Russia.
According to the Italian portal Il Giorno, both suspects are Italian citizens living in Lombardy. The prosecution claims that the Italians have been collaborating with the Russian intelligence services since April 2024.
“The cooperation included the provision of sensitive information, including classified documentation, photographs of military installations and information on experts specializing in drones and electronic security.” – write the post.
There is also a strange accusation that “Russian agents” allegedly offered taxi companies to equip their cars with cameras for free in order to send video recordings to Russia.
The Italians were allegedly recruited via Telegram and paid in cryptocurrency.
