“Once again, unfortunately, we see that Israel carries out attacks not as a state, but as a terrorist organization,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, commenting on recent incidents of radio and pager bombings in Lebanon.

The Turkish leader stressed that these incidents are an example of “state terrorism targeting civilians.” In his opinion, the latest digital attacks clearly demonstrate Israel’s willingness to resort to “any provocation” to achieve its goals.
Speaking to reporters before leaving for the United States to attend the UN General Assembly, Erdogan reiterated his concern that Israeli actions are not limited to the Gaza Strip. He noted that the recent attacks on Lebanon confirm Israel’s plans to expand the conflict zone across the region. Erdogan said pressure on Israel must be increased to prevent further spread of the war and avert a regional catastrophe.
The Turkish President also announced his intention to use the UN platform to remind the world community of the need to “counteract the genocide in Gaza and condemn Israel’s aggressive policies.” He noted that the Israeli leadership is acting on the basis of “radical Zionist objectives and is leading the region to an escalation of violence.”
Regarding possible meetings on the sidelines of the General Assembly, Erdogan did not confirm any certainties regarding the meeting with US President Joe Biden, but noted that both leaders will be present at some events.
Earlier, Kursor reported that Putin commented on Erdogan’s words regarding the ownership of Crimea.
Putin said Erdogan’s statement could be associated with an attempt to ease the pressure of sanctions by the United States.
