Two residents of Fornelos de Montes and Vigo, aged 27 and 18, were arrested by the judicial police team of the Civil Guard of Vigo as alleged perpetrators of the commission of two offenses of theft with force, damage and fraud of more than 100.00 euros.
According to police sources, the detainees are accused of a forceful robbery in a hotel establishment located in Fornelos de Montes on October 2, in which the thieves They stole around 2,000 euros from the slot machines.
Subsequently, the company managing the machine filed a complaint after detecting an abnormal deposit of 40,000 euros in deposit on the same day and at the same location. In other words, the perpetrators introduced money into the machine, but They could get them anywhere else.. In this case and taking into account the possibility of fraud, the company sent an operator on site and He withdrew this amount of cash from the machine.
After investigating the theft, officers determined that the inmates’ “modus operandi” was to feed 1,000 euros in cash into the local machine, which issued a ticket for that amount and then They loaded it onto another machine in a different location.
Then they returned to the original location where they reintroduced the cash and extracted another ticket for the same amount, which was collected again at another location. With that, They managed to accumulate around 40,000 euros on this betting machine.
According to indications from the Civil Guard, the intention of the detainees was break in and steal the machine the same night, but the actions of the collection company made this impossible.
In the early hours of October 22, taking advantage of the premises being closed, the inmates entered the establishment, manipulated the machine and They repeatedly presented a single 20 euro note, until reaching a deposit of 1000 euros, extracting a ticket of this amount, which they then cashed in another machine of the same company in other establishments.
The two men repeated this operation several times until reaching a total deposit of 72,000 euros. The slot machine management company managed to block tickets worth 25,604 euros, but did not succeed in committing fraud.
Theft, damage and fraud
After identifying the alleged perpetrators, the judicial police team of the Civil Guard of Vigo arrested these two men for alleged crimes of theft with force, damage and scam.
One of them already has a criminal record, and once the corresponding demonstration was carried out and the appropriate procedures were carried out, they were released from the police headquarters, at the disposal of the Vigo Custodial Court.
