With the start of the new academic year, the use of public transport has increased. However, the widely used “BakiKart” application has been out of service for some time now.
In response to Trend’s query, Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) said that work is ongoing to eliminate the technical glitch in the “BakiKart” application.
“We ask passengers to temporarily use “BakiKart” cards and other available alternatives to pay for public transport,” the agency said.
As for when it will be possible to pay by bank card on buses, they said that work is currently underway to speed up the transition to a payment system that guarantees cashless payment of fares in entities that carry out passenger transport.
“At the same time, efforts are being made to guarantee payment of fares by bank cards,” the agency said.
