Negotiations took place in Moscow between the Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Maksat Asanaliev, the Acting President of the Supreme Court of Russia Petr Serkov and the Minister of Justice of Russia Konstantin Chuychenko, during which key issues of cooperation were discussed bilateral, including the implementation of the provisions of the CIS Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons. According to the department, special attention was paid to the issue of the increase in the number of Kyrgyz citizens convicted in Russia, of which there are currently 1,370.
Since the beginning of this year, 77 convicts have been transferred to serve their sentences in their homeland, 56 people are in the process of transfer.
During the negotiations, the parties noted the need to strengthen coordination for the transfer of convicted citizens to Kyrgyzstan and specific measures to optimize this process, including accelerating the transfer of documents and improving interaction between departments.
It is reported that the Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic stressed the importance of protecting the rights of convicted persons, noting the important role of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation in strengthening public order and positive dynamics in the process of transferring prisoners to their detention centers. homeland.
After the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed.
