Thanks to this note published by the Dutch police authorities, the image of the individual who planned the attack against the Spanish politician and other leaders opposed to the Iranian regime was known for the first time. A reward of 50,000 euros is offered for key clues leading to his trace and subsequent arrest.

Sami Békal Bounouaré He has Spanish and Moroccan nationality. He was on the run a few days before the attack. It’s the only one This is a piece of the puzzle that investigators from the General Information Commission (CGI) of the National Police are missing.

Background

Sami Bekal Bounouare is under investigation for leading an assassination-for-hire attempt in June 2024 in Haarlem. The intended victim was an Iranian activist and publicist. He is also suspected of being involved in the execution of an ordered murder in Capelle aan den IJssel, a municipality in the south of the Netherlands, in 2021. Wisam Al-Albassi, 37, was murdered there.

It would be the last and main link in an alleged terrorist cell that followed the politician’s footsteps in Madrid and even recorded him at public gatherings weeks before, tracking his movements and analyzing his routine.

This Thursday, the Police also arrested an eighth person involved in the events. The arrest was coordinated by the National Court, where the events are under investigation. The person arrested is one of the collaborators of the plot, in particular the author of the attack, the Franco-Tunisian hitman Mehrez Ayari, 37, arrested the last time. June 19 in the Netherlands.

Ayari was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the National Court following these events. Also about the one who is currently detained. Sources from the investigation tell EL ESPAÑOL that after these latest arrests, the main hypothesis on the table, already reported from the beginning by the former founder of Vox and PP politician, is that of a crime committed by Iran to the powerful Mocro mafia.

Thus, the thesis that this organization is behind the crime committed by Iran is supported by the most recent evidence and the latest arrests. In September, the hitman’s brother fell. attributed to Vidal-Quadras his alleged direct participation in the planning and logistics of the attack.

A month and a half before the fall of Ayari, a woman was arrested in the Netherlands for her alleged participation in organizing the attack on Vidal-Quadras, although her role was reduced to financing the attack. The arrested woman had links with the Dutch organization made up of second and third generation North Africans.

Four other detainees, captured before Ayari and the woman, are young men aged 20 to 30. Almost all of them, with little or no experience in the world of organized crime.
