The radical Palestinian group Hamas has expressed interest in concluding a hostage exchange deal with Israel, but it will not guarantee an end to hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
Oku.Az “The Times of Israel” reported this citing sources.
“For the first time in a long time, there is a good chance of reaching an agreement with Hamas on the hostages,” the source was quoted as saying.
The source added that Hamas is ready for an agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Gaza that does not involve an official announcement.
According to The Times of Israel, a possible deal would include a 42-day ceasefire during which the group would release some of the hostages.
