Neighbors of Queen’s Gardenin the capital Cordoba, denounced this Saturday the “insecurity” in the neighborhoodwhere, according to the president of the association that represents the inhabitants of the area, José María Vázquez Teja, they have been happening very frequently for months. “thefts, robberies, vandalism and occupation”.
He also highlights “the high number of damages to vehicles caused” by people “coming from other neighborhoods and break windows and mirrors“. Vázquez Teja links this situation to the “increasing” existence of tourist apartments that, as he points out, “seem to identify those who come by car and try to steal their vehicle.”
Vázquez clarifies that “there was door flightsrobberies in houses recently, and even in warehouses, such as the one that occurred in Sama Naharro Street, where they entered eight warehouses and stole valuables. On the other hand, neighbors also report situations of night meetings in the same Jardines de la Estrella square “in which consume substances and the neighbors are scolded and the elderly have a certain fear and a certain feeling of insecurity.
Since the association they have started collect complaints to transfer them to the Government Sub-delegation so that they know the reality of the neighborhood. In this sense, the president of the neighbors demands more police presence to serve as a deterrent. “The neighborhood has changed, it has lost its centrality and a large part of its businesses, and it has become more of a transit neighborhood.”
The Vial Huerta de la Reina neighborhood association will launch actions “so that the authorities do their part to provide solutions to these situations.” Among other things, it announces the Vial Avenue Court for the coming weeks because, they indicate, “the situation has become untenable.”
