The article “Azerbaijan’s bet on gas to Europe is good news for Russia” in the European edition of “Politico” is nothing more than an ugly example of disinformation.
Oku.Az reports that on page “X” Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration, wrote about this.
According to him, the article lacks professional verification of the facts and is full of speculation and rumors:
“It is shameful to say the least that European standards of journalism and media have fallen to such a low level. The European Union is particularly sensitive and concerned about global disinformation spread in the media. This is understandable! But, How do European media react when they spread fake news and lies about others?
One fact completely refutes this article: in 2024, Azerbaijan did not import gas from Russia. Spot! Gas production in Azerbaijan is carried out within the framework of cooperation with international partners. The volume of production and export is evident to everyone.
Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to the energy security of its partners based on its existing resources and agreed agreements. We demand that “Politico” apologize to its European edition and retract this false article!”
