Starting March 15, new rules for purchasing tickets for events in institutions subordinate to the Department of Culture will come into force in Moscow. This is reported by the Moscow mayor’s website.
Now it will be possible to purchase tickets for cultural and entertainment events with seats using one of the documents: passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, “driver’s license, Moscow social card, student card, pension certificate and other options”.
“At the time of purchasing a ticket, the data from the document that identifies the buyer will be added to the buyer’s information usually requested. And by visiting the event, the viewer will be able to confirm their identity with any of the documents on the approved list.” – says the message.
It should also be noted that this type of ticket purchase scheme is already familiar to Muscovites from their experience in purchasing train or plane tickets.
“The introduction of new rules is aimed at improving control over ticket sales and increasing the safety of visitors to cultural events.” – explained the mayor’s office.
The pilot project will last until the end of 2025. 36 cultural institutions in Moscow will participate in it.
