Maria del Mar and Pilar Iglesias Abad They are originally from Montánchez (Cáceres), but they have spent their entire professional lives in Madrid. Mar married a Navarrese three years ago and settled in Pamplona, while her sister also decided to settle in the Navarrese capital and open an interior design studio.
The idea for the new store came about “when we started to explore a little bit what commerce and sales are like here. We saw that there was movement, that people were excited and I liked that. “I have been working in Madrid for 30 years but my sister has been living in Pamplona for a few years. We wanted to leave Madrid,” explains Pilar.
“We had an online decorating businesscurtains, upholstery fabrics and even personalized. We will quote you at home. We go to the customer’s home to help him and he does not have to come to the store. With this base that we had in Madrid, we moved it to Pamplona,” explains Mar.
The area chosen for the store, in the heart of the second Ensanche, is very good: “There is a lot of traffic. We are next to the Plaza de la Cruznext to Baja Navarra and Carlos III avenues and next to the Alhambra restaurant. There is no loss,” they say.
They emphasize that their product is open “to all types of audiences and not just to a certain level. Young people come by and we were interested.” The first days “It’s popular and we’re still short of material, but people are responding pretty well. A small shop gives people confidence, that’s what brings the street to life,” they explain.
“We are entrepreneurs and businesswomen, and we want to satisfy the customer who comes to see us.” They sell “curtains, upholstery fabrics, lighting, carpets… everything that is interior decoration. with the advantage that all the suppliers are in Pamplona and the service is very fast for the customer,” they emphasize.
