The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency adopted a resolution criticizing Iran for its lack of cooperation on the nuclear issue, France Presse reports citing diplomatic sources.
The text, presented by the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the United States, was approved by 19 of the 35 countries. Russia, China and Burkina Faso voted against, while 12 countries abstained.
As reported by Reuters, the resolution requires the IAEA to prepare a “comprehensive” report on Iran by spring 2025.
Previously, the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi He stated that the Iranian side will take decisive retaliatory measures if the IAEA makes a non-constructive decision in issuing a resolution against Tehran and its nuclear program.
