British Prime Minister shows off first photo of his kitten

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has revealed the first photograph of his new Siberian kitten named Prince, the Telegraph reports.

The Daily Mail previously reported that Starmer decided to get a kitten after “heated negotiations” with children who first wanted to get a German shepherd. Britain’s current chief mouser of Downing Street, Larry the Cat, reacted to this news by declaring on his social media account X that the new kitten “will obey him”, and threatened him with exile in case of disobedience, also claiming that he himself is cuter than any kitten.

“Sir Keir Starmer has introduced Downing Street’s new furry resident, Siberian kitten Prince. A photograph of the Prime Minister with the Prince was published on Saturday, showing the little kitten jumping onto Sir Keir’s desk (and putting his paws on Sir Keir’s papers). – writes the post.

Earlier, the Times newspaper reported, citing government sources, that British authorities had developed a plan in case of the death of a 17-year-old cat who worked at the British Prime Minister’s residence. He was named “Larry Bridges”, which is an ironic reference to the code names given to protect the details of preparations for the deaths of members of the royal family. In particular, photographs of Larry were specially selected for publication after the news of his death and are stored in closed folders in government systems. The press release and social media materials are also said to be “ready for the sad day of his passing.” At the same time, Larry the cat is now feeling well.
