Those who leave animals on the roads in Italy will be severely punished

A law toughening penalties for traffic violations in Italy came into force after final approval by the lower house of parliament.

Oku.Az TASS reports that the fine for using the phone while driving increases from 250 to 1,000 euros. In addition, the offender is automatically deprived of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of one week to three months.

If you drive a car while intoxicated, you will be immediately disqualified for up to six months. The fines for this violation of the rule amount to 6,000 euros.

The updated code places restrictions on the use of electric scooters, which are widespread. So, to ride a scooter you need to buy a license plate, wear a helmet, and have proper insurance.

Likewise, the most severe penalties have been applied to drivers who leave their pets on the road. This crime is punishable by disqualification from driving for a period of six months to one year. If a person is killed or injured in an accident caused by an abandoned pet, the owner can face up to seven years in prison.
