The businessman said he knew that this money was also going to Ábalos and had direct experience of it, even though he never handed the invoices to the minister.

According to Aldama, Ábalos received more than 650,000 euros in cash and Koldo 300,000 additional euros in these alleged bribes, which would have functioned as compensation in exchange for the award of public contracts investigated by the Justice.

The payments, according to Aldama, began two months after the return of the trip to Mexico in February 2019, i.e. in April. Koldo directly asked him for money for Ábalos, because this way he would have many more possibilities to conclude contracts and do business with the public administration.

The commissionaire, according to his version, withdrew money from the construction sector.

More specifically, Aldama clarified that what Ábalos and Koldo perceived were 250,000 euros and 100,000 eurosrespectively, for the rewards granted to the company Soluciones de Gestión SL for the purchase of masks.

At one point in his statement this Thursday, Aldama said he told Ábalos and Koldo: “I am not the Bank of Spain and you are already going too far.”

Aldama has identified that the alias El Grandu is Ábalos and the Goblins are Koldo. Both appear in an Excel sheet with the money amounts.

Ábalos had asked for 2,000,000 euros in commissions. However, Aldama was unable to make these payments because, according to the commission agent, “the accounts were not settled”.

For its part, the pseudonym Globins, referring to Koldo, appeared the “Home” noteaccompanied by an amount of 500,000 euros.

The businessman explained that Koldo asked him to buy the house, owned by José Luis Ábalos, in which the councilor lived, as a rental. This house is located on Calle Humilladero, next to Calle Cava Baja in Madrid, in the La Latina district.

In other words, Koldo wanted Aldama to pay 500,000 euros to Ábalos and for the councilor to become the owner of the house.

Holidays and gifts

In addition to cash, the businessman admitted to paying for vacations and gifts to both the minister and Koldo.

Víctor de Aldama said he bought Koldo García a motorcycle, a car to his wife Patricia Úriz and also paid artificial insemination treatment of the advisor and his wife.

In the case of Ábalos, Aldama paid 88,000 euros to the elderly for rent a luxury apartment of the minister’s girlfriend, Jessica Rodriguez Garcia.
