The President-elect of the United States, Donald Trumpelected this Thursday the former attorney general of Florida Pam Bondi to succeed Matt Gaetz as attorney general of his next cabinet, after having resigned cornered by his sexual scandals.

“Pam was a prosecutor for almost 20 years. She was very tough on violent criminals and made the streets safer for Florida families,” the future president said on his social network Truth Social.

“Pam will refocus the Department of Justice on its goal of fighting crime and make America safe again. I have known Pam for many years. “She is smart and tough,” he said of his new choice, about which he assured that “she will do an excellent job as attorney general.”

Gaetz, who until last week was a member of Congress, renounced his candidacy for attorney general on Thursday.

He was previously investigated by the Department of Justice, but never charged, for allegedly had sex with minors, in violation of human trafficking lawsas well as drug use.
