When no one defends the actions of the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, in the management of DANA, his strategy is to resist power. Just after attributing the serious repercussions of the flood, in which at least 220 people died, to alleged “failures of the entire system,” Mazón hides behind the appointment of a retired military officer, Lt. General Francisco José Gan Pampols, as vice president. of the Generalitat Valenciana and gives it the powers of reconstruction and recovery of the affected areas.
