Bastianini’s controversial victory over Martin, with Marquez on the podium and Bagnaia’s fall

Enea Bastianini won the MotoGP of Emilia Romagna thanks to a controversial overtaking of Jorge Martín on the last lap. The Beast put the bike where there was no room, they touched and they both almost fell. The podium was completed by Marc Márquez after a fall by Pecco Bagnaia with seven laps to go.

The start followed a similar scenario to that of the sprint. Jorge Martín took first place again at the first corner, but a mistake in the following corner allowed Pecco to regain that first place. Behind, Márquez was unable to gain any position as he did in the short race on Saturday. But the Lérida rider managed to overtake Bezzecchi after just a few laps to place sixth, behind Acosta.

A lap later, Brad Binder crashed and the Cervera rider moved up to fifth place. But Acosta did not give in, he seemed to have something more than him and could not follow him. Meanwhile, at the head of the race, Martín was pressing Bagnaia, waiting for him to make a mistake so he could overtake him. It was on the fifth lap when 89 managed to put the bike in 1 and stop it in time to confirm the overtaking.

From there, Martinator began to attack and in just one lap he gained half a second on a Pecco who seemed to be having problems. The Italian could not maintain the pace he had shown in the sprint. Behind him arrived his teammate, Enea Bastianini, like lightning. The Beast also ended up overtaking the winner of the sprint. Just behind, Pedro Acosta fell on lap 10 and Márquez gave it full throttle to try to pursue Bagnaia in search of the podium.

What was clear was that the fight for victory was between Enea and Martín. They were the two fastest riders. Pecco reacted and managed to chase away the ghosts of Marc Márquez. The race developed and the podium seemed clear for the Ducati GP24, the same three from the sprint but in a different order.
