THE city of cordoba ended in October – the month in which its second high season ends, which begins in September – with a decrease in the number of tourists but with an increase in overnight stays, according to data made public this Friday by (INE). In other words, they arrived less but stayed more. This must be influenced by the fact that foreign travelers – whose stays are generally longer – continue to show clear signs of progress, which after the pandemic was an unresolved issue.
He number of travelers who spent the night in hotels, hostels and pensions – the published statistics focus exclusively on this accommodation formula – last month was 93,025. This figure was below in 4,327 visitors compared to that recorded a year earlier (-4.4%). When making interannual comparisons, it must be taken into account that in 2023 there was a long weekend for the October 12 holiday and this year there was none.

Increase in overnight stays compared to 2019
Travelers who stayed in hotels in October this year also generated 168,465 nights compared to the 160,164 recorded a year earlier. That is, there was an increase of 5.2% (+8,301).
