Scandal between an Israeli airline and Delta – details

Israeli Sassi Sheva, who has lived in California for years and works as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, has filed a lawsuit against her employer, accusing the company of systematic discrimination on the basis of religion and nationality. In her statement, Sheva claims that she has repeatedly faced prejudice due to her Israeli heritage and Jewish faith.

Sheva is a licensed attorney by profession, but has worked as a flight attendant for Delta for the past two years. She claims to have faced multiple instances of discrimination, including being denied a day off on Yom Kippur and repeated violations of her religious rights. One of the most egregious incidents described in the lawsuit was when she was offered a pulled pork sandwich on board, despite her personnel file indicating she was a kosher-observant vegetarian.

Sheva claims that during a flight on July 12, 2022, he was suddenly called to work with a changed schedule, without being able to eat. When he asked to stop by the airport to buy vegetarian food, the company refused. As a result, he was offered food that was contrary to his religious norms. The complaint filed with management was ignored.

Additionally, the suit describes the company’s refusal to grant time off for the important religious holiday of Yom Kippur. Sheva says the request was denied without explanation, further highlighting the company’s systemic discrimination against employees who practice Judaism or are of Israeli descent.

Delta officials declined to comment on specific details of the lawsuit but said the company is committed to equality and non-discrimination of any kind.

In addition to the discrimination allegations, Sheva also spoke about injuries he suffered at work. One of the incidents involved a corporate shuttle that was involved in an accident, the other was due to luggage falling in the aisle of the plane, causing Sheva to trip and injure himself. He believes that after these incidents the company increased the pressure on him and began actively persecuting him for standing up for his rights.

Sheva claims that not only was he discriminated against at Delta, but other employees of Israeli or Jewish faith also suffered similar treatment. Some of these cases also went to trial. The lawsuit claims that the company’s actions caused him significant moral and psychological harm, which continues to affect his life.

Sheva is seeking compensation for her suffering, including moral damages and legal costs.
