The short film “Now I’m back”, by Lucas Paulino and Gabe Ibáñez, wins the Cabra audiovisual competition

The short film ‘I’m coming back now’by Lucas Paulino and Gabe Ibáñez, won the main prize this Saturday XXIX National Audiovisual Creation Competition Goatwho was awarded an amount of 2,000 euros. It is a 2023 horror thriller film, starring Belén Cuesta and Anastasia Russowho already had a nomination to his name in the Fugaz Prize for the best special effects, as well as inclusion in the official section of the Ibiza Cinefest.

The awards ceremony took place during the closing gala held at the Théâtre The Little Garden, which was attended by award-winning actors and actresses, members of the jury, as well as political representatives led by the mayor of the city, Fernando Priego, and the provincial deputy for technological development, digital transformation and youth, Sara Alguacil.

At the event, the actors were honored Alejandro Vergara, Alba Bersabé and La Dani, within the different recognition sections that the Egabrense creation festival has established. A total of 544 short films and eight feature films presented from different points of Spanish geography, from which they were finally selected 68 jobs which were part of the official competition section and which were screened throughout the week that has just ended.

Regarding the rest of the awarded works, it is worth mentioning the prize awarded by the Public Radio Television of Andalusia to best Andalusian audiovisual creationwithout financial amount and it was for the title “Night Shift: The Wrong Place”by Juanjo Avi; while the ‘Juan Muñoz’ prize for the best amateur production, worth 500 euros, was awarded to the short film ‘Congratulations Hanselby Miguel Pertejo. On the other hand, the prize for the best work of less than five minutes and worth 300 euros went to the short film ‘Shit for mom’, by Rocío Rubio, while the “Antonio Espinar” prize for the best animated short film, worth 300 euros, was awarded to the work ‘Feline’, by Maria Lorenzo Hernandez.

The other awards were for best screenplay. “Boy things”by Raquel Colera, with 300 euros; the Primera Ópticos award for best female performance and also with 300 euros was awarded to the actress Ana Fernandezfor his performance in the short film “Thursday in March”by Luis Murillo; while the award for best male performance went to actor Manu Baqueirofor his performance in the short film ‘The train’ by Lucia Jimenez.

Prizes were also awarded for best photography, which went to Sofia Urwitz for the short film “Piercative order”by Raul Monge, or the AMMA prize for “Boy things”by Raquel Colera.
