Norway and Germany will not build a hydrogen pipeline – EADaily, September 22, 2024 – Economic News, European News

Norwegian company Equinor has confirmed that it is withdrawing from a joint project with Germany to build a hydrogen gas pipeline in Germany. The information is provided by Reuters.

The Norwegians explained this decision by the high cost of construction.

“The hydrogen pipeline proved unviable. This also means that plans to produce hydrogen will also be put on hold.” – said a company representative Magnus Franz Eidsvold.

The Berliner Zeitung newspaper described the rejection of the Norwegian-German project, estimated at “several tens of billions of euros”a severe blow to the pan-European “green” agenda and personally to the reputation of the German Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. Robert Habeck.
