Mazón formalizes his new government and grants “coordination” powers to Vice President Gan Pampols

After a week of announcements in dribs and drabs via press releases and 24 days after the catastrophic DANA which has left, for the moment, 221 dead in the province of Valencia, the Official Journal of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) published this Friday the composition of new autonomous government led by President Carlos Mazón.

The decree also provides for the cessation Salome Pradas as Minister of Justice and the Interior, and Nuria Montes as Minister of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism – an area that assumes Mariano Cano-, who are “thanked for the services rendered”. With the new appointments, the Consell is restructured and now has eleven departments, one more. The inauguration of its members will take place next Tuesday.

The new Second Vice-Presidency and Department for Economic and Social Recovery of the Valencian Community, headed by Army Lieutenant General Francisco José Gan Pampols, is entrusted with “the coordination of all actions that fall under the responsibility of the Consell related to this objective. Likewise, “he will coordinate relations with the State and with any other administration” in this matter.

The appointment of Military Brigadier General Venancio Aguado de Diego as regional secretary has not yet been made official.

As ABC reported, Susana Camarero She remains first vice-president and advisor for Social Services, Equality and Housing, as well as secretary of the Consell. Adds the position of Executive Spokesperson to replace Ruth Merinoswho remains at the head of the Treasury and the Economy. Merino loses powers in the Civil Service, which are assumed by the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration which will be headed by lawyer Nuria Martínez.

A department divided in two

Justice and the Interior, until now headed by Salomé Pradas jointly with emergency powers, is thus split into two departments. Martínez’s office is assigned competences in matters of justice and popular consultations, professional associations, foundations, associations, civil status and notaries, public service and information technology and administrative communication.

Meanwhile, the Department of Emergencies and Interior, with Juan Carlos Valderrama As chief, he assumes responsibility for the interior, civil protection, management of the attached national police unit, firefighting and emergency situations, including health.

Waiting for the changes in the second and third stage of the organization chart of the Consell, no modification has been made to the Presidency of the Generalitat; Health (Marciano Gómez); Education, Culture, Universities and Employment (José Antonio Rovira); Agriculture, water, livestock and fishing (Miguel Barrachina); and Environment, Infrastructure and Territory (Vicente Martínez Mus).
