A “large part” of the south terminal at Gatwick Airport, south London, has been evacuated as a precaution while an unspecified “security incident” is investigated.
As the airport, the second busiest in the UK, posted on its social media account X, passengers will not be able to enter this terminal until the incident is resolved.
“We are working hard to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The safety of our passengers and staff remains our top priority,” the airfield said in the message.
Likewise, all travelers have been advised to check with airlines the status of their scheduled flights.
As the BBC reports, all train services stopping at Gatwick will not stop at this station and will continue not to for at least an hour.
According to the same source, buses to the airport no longer have access to the facilities.
