The German Air Force’s Eurofighter fourth-generation multi-role fighters were urgently scrambled into the sky on the evening of September 22 due to a signal about the overflight of Russian aircraft. Details are reported on the German Air Force’s social media accounts.
German aircraft escorted the Su-35 and four Su-30s in the skies over the Baltic Sea area.
“Takeoff alert over the Baltic Sea: Today our rapid reaction forces were alerted in Latvia to identify five Russian aircraft at once,” – says the message.
The Germans also clarified that Russian planes flew over the Baltic countries. “without a flight plan and with the transponders turned off”.
