Yair Golan’s visit to London

On Sunday, September 22, the leader of the Democratic political bloc, retired IDF General Yair Golan, arrived in London on an official visit. During the visit, he will meet with British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer, Foreign Minister David Lammy, as well as other key representatives of the British leadership, the bloc’s press service reported.

The press release also noted that Golan will be the first Israeli political leader to meet with the new British Prime Minister, Kiir Starmer. Prior to this, Starmer only spoke with Israeli President Isaac Herzog during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.

The Israeli delegation will take part in the UK Labour Party conference, which will take place as part of the visit. As you know, the government of Keir Starmer, a representative of the Labour Party, has decided to impose a partial embargo on arms supplies to Israel.

Earlier, Cursor wrote that opposition leader Yair Golan sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, arguing that he failed to use “at least three clear opportunities” to reach an agreement on the release of hostages held by Hamas terrorists.

In an interview, Golan said that one such opportunity arose in March, but did not materialize.

In addition, Cursor has already reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned the British government’s decision to revoke some 30 licenses for arms exports to Israel. He noted that, in his opinion, instead of supporting Israel, which is defending itself from violence, Britain has chosen the side of Hamas terrorists.
