Jailed former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili called on the opposition to toughen the nature of the protest against the parliamentary elections held in October. Saakashvili made this statement via video link during the upcoming meeting on the case of his illegal border crossing.
“They are taking our country away from us. Either we continue the resistance and take back the country, or we stop the resistance and Georgia, as an independent country, will cease to exist. Now between us and our freedom, us and our salvation, the future, there are 4 thousand robocops and special forces. Are there many more of us? Therefore, these ballerina games must end,” Saakashvili enrages.
He claims that, in fact, the ruling Georgian Dream lost the election.
The first meeting of the 11th convocation of the Parliament of Georgia is scheduled for November 25. The opposition that lost the elections is also preparing for the meeting. On that day, opposition associations intend to organize a large-scale demonstration near the parliament building to demand new parliamentary elections.
