All members of the Russian team won gold medals and Ekaterina Churkina from Moscow school No. 179 became the absolute winner of the Olympiad, scoring the most points. He also received the honorary title of “National Diamond”.
The Olympiad consisted of four rounds: theoretical, practical, observational and test. The schoolchildren worked on problems on the knowledge of the starry sky, analyzed scientific material (tables and graphs), performed calculations and forecasts. In their free time from competitive tours, the children met famous scientists and astronauts.
