The velvet season in southern European Russia will last longer than usual

The velvet season in southern European Russia, when air and water temperatures will range from 22 to 27 degrees, will last longer than usual and will not end before mid-October, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, told RIA Novosti.

“In the south of European Russia the temperature will be normal, but there the standards are high, so the weather is simply wonderful. The temperature is mostly 22-27 degrees and the water temperature is still high. The real velvet season started late and will end late, not before mid-October.” – said Vilfand.

The velvet season is a situation where air and water temperatures are approximately equal and comfortable.
