RM Sotheby’s auction house plans to hold a large-scale auction called “The Rudy Klein Collection” at the end of October, where dozens of rare and vintage cars will be on display.
Oku.Az According to Championat.com, most of the cars are in poor condition. The collection has been stored in a garage for 50 years without proper maintenance, but despite this, some cars are worth millions of dollars.
One such car is the 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Alloy Gullwing. Only 29 examples of the 300 SL were produced in this body style, and only this model was available in black. The car was originally built for Italian racing driver Luigi Chinetti, who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times between 1932 and 1949. The car entered Klyan’s collection in 1976 and is currently not in the best condition, but can be restored. The expected value of the lot is $4.5 to $6 million.
Shareholders are seeking to earn roughly the same amount for a one-of-a-kind Mercedes-Benz 500K, custom-built for pre-war Grand Prix star Rudolph Caracciola. The estimated price for this lot is $4-6 million.
It should be noted that the existence of Rudy Klein’s collection was considered a myth for a long time, and only after the death of the owner in 2001, his collection came to light. Cars from Porsche, Aston Martin, Lamborghini and other brands will also be put up for auction.
