The United States will return to India nearly 300 works of art that were stolen or illegally removed from Indian territory.
Oku.Az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the South Asian Republic has published information about this on its official website.
“In connection with the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United States, the US side has facilitated the return of 297 ancient objects that were stolen or removed from India. They will soon be returned to India,” the statement read.
The return of the art objects will be carried out in accordance with the commitments contained in the joint declaration following the meeting between US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Modi in June 2023.
