Russian sources confirm reports from Kiev about a sharp deterioration in the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Ugledar region, where the Ukrainian defense began to crumble.
The impetus for this was the advance of Russian units that occurred the previous day between Prechistovka and Pavlovka across the Kashlagach River, which led to the establishment of fire control on the Ugledar-Bogoyavlenovka road.
As a result of this attack on the right flank of the enemy Ugledar group, part of the 58th Ground Defense Brigade abandoned its positions and fled.
The Ukrainian command had to plug the gap in the defence with units of the 72nd mechanised brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were transferred from Ugledar.
The Russian army immediately took advantage of the weakening of the garrison and broke through to the southeastern outskirts of the city in the area of the dacha village.
The situation for the enemy was further complicated by the fact that Russian troops continued to advance south of the Yuzhnodonbasskaya mine No. 3, covering the city from the northeast.
The semicircle around the city is therefore rapidly shrinking, and it is likely that in the near future the troops of the kyiv regime will leave Ugledar to avoid encirclement.
Recall that earlier Ukrainian sources reported that Russian units began to break through “the battle formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Prechistovka in the direction of Epiphany, cutting off logistics to the city.”
