The app did not allow uploading stories or posting videos in Spain.

It’s been a while since Meta apps had problems, but the streak is over. On this occasion, it was Instagram’s turn, which did not allow access to basic functions such as publishing photos or videos from Spain and other countries.

The problems started around 9pm, Spanish mainland time, but it was only half an hour later that the real extent of the drop could be seen among users; many of whom entered other social networks such as X to inquire about the situation.

However, at this time, neither Meta nor Instagram have confirmed the issues with the app; as is usually the case, companies usually prefer to focus on verifying the situation and finding the solution before making any statements, unless the problem is so serious that it cannot be fixed immediately.

Specifically, on this occasion, the problem was when posting any type of content on Instagram. Users noticed that the app does not allow them to post stories, reels or photos, although the symptoms seem different depending on the person or device used.

Despite the posting issues, it doesn’t seem like Instagram has completely disappeared, as the timeline was still accessible; in other words, we could still see posts from users we followed, but we couldn’t post ourselves.

According to Downdetector, Instagram’s problems have affected all of Spain, with the main capitals being the most affected and reporting the most problems. However, this failure is not exclusive to Spain and other countries, such as the United States, are also reporting similar difficulties.

Around 10:30 p.m., users began to notice that Instagram was improving and that they could repost to the social network without any problems.
